Going Public - June
19, 1998
Last year PointCast turned down a $400 million buyout from
Rupert Murdock, citing
the desire to try and make it on their own. Since then
they hired a new CEO Dave Dorman, who Online.Press reports
as saying: "First, I want to go public
to raise some capital to develop our ideas, then I want
to talk to Ted Turner. I've never met him, but I think if
I got on the phone with Ted, he'd get PointCast in under
10 minutes."
